Artist Paul Oz is an explosive British portrait artist – focused on the maximum 3D impact and energy in thick oil paint. Well known for travelling the world live painting with Formula One - recently artist Paul Oz has also created work with Team Sky on the Tour of Britain, Chelsea FC to celebrate their 2017 title win, and for Lamborghini at the launch of their Urus.
Headline commissions include for Muhammad Ali’s 70th, by Sir Bradley Wiggins to mark his 2012 Olympic title, by Star Trek to celebrate 50 years, and a portrait of Bruno Mars presented to him in Las Vegas to mark his 24k Magic World tour.
Within F1, artist Paul Oz has live painted for Scuderia Ferrari VIP’s in Monaco, with Mercedes AMG Petronas in Barcelona, and has created several portraits for Jenson Button - including one live with McLaren in Abu Dhabi at his last race to celebrate his career.
Also creating work personally for Lewis Hamilton, Sir Jackie Stewart, Pirelli – and by both Ayrton Senna and James Hunts families to mark 20 years. Recent shows include '80’s Kid' in London, The Art of Star Wars, sell out shows at Abu Dhabi, Mexico City and Singapore F1 weeks. The only artist shown in every Paddock Club on the F1 calendar worldwide.
Paul Oz’s work is a continually evolving visual record of his journey through the world of Formula 1. Over the past decade, he has worked with sponsors, teams, drivers and international organisations, exhibiting at circuits across the F1 calendar as well as through British Embassies and galleries in F1 cities around the world.
His work is driven by a simple ambition: to celebrate Formula 1 in its entirety — its present, its history, and above all, the emotion that makes it such a powerful global phenomenon. From the drama of the modern grid to the legends who shaped the sport, Paul’s paintings capture the passion, triumph, heartbreak and human stories behind Formula 1.
His career has seen him create work for some of the sport’s most recognisable names and institutions, with commissions including McLaren and Lewis Hamilton, alongside collaborations with F1 Arcade and F1 Hubs around the world. His paintings have featured drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso, while his work also pays tribute to icons such as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.
Whether portraying Ferrari and McLaren, a contemporary champion or a legendary figure from F1’s past, Paul’s work reflects a fascination with the stories that continue to define the sport. As Formula 1 writes its history, Paul’s role is to capture and celebrate it.
Original oil paintings are highly sought after and often sell quickly. A selection of works is also available as hand-embellished limited editions and fine art prints, including his Wall of Champions series — a collection of square-format portraits designed to work individually within smaller spaces or collectively as a larger installation.
Paul also undertakes commissioned paintings, creating bespoke works for collectors, teams, brands and individuals, subject to availability and sufficient time to develop each piece.
