The Red Racing Mako Pup by Alastair Gibson in collaboration with Carbon Art 45 is a striking fusion of high-performance racing and oceanic design. Inspired by the 2022 Scuderia Ferrari Formula One car, which claimed victory at the 2022 British Grand Prix, this sculpture embodies speed, precision, and elegance.
A scaled version of the original Racing Mako, the sculpture is crafted to the true birth size of a Mako shark pup, capturing the sleek, aerodynamic lines of the ocean’s fastest shark. Every detail mirrors the racing spirit of Ferrari’s championship-winning technology.
Selected components and materials used in the sculpture are sourced from modern Grand Prix cars, integrating authentic motorsport engineering into the piece. The Red Racing Mako Pup is a unique collectible, celebrating the perfect intersection of nature, art, and Formula One performance.
Sculpture limited to twenty five pieces with 2 artist proofs.
Materials:
Body: Carbon fibre 2 x 2 twill 200 gsm, 2.4 mm thick. Coated with UV resistant clear coating and painted detail.
Dorsal and underside fins: Black coated 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel.
Tail and Pectoral fins: Black coated 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel.
Exhausts: Water system PRV 75° fitting adapted to suit, vapourmat blasted and coated black.
Marking detail: Black water transfer
Teeth: Printed chrome on black Decal.
Mounting base and rod: Mounted on a black coated wooden base with red Pirelli tyre ID logo and a gear from a modern Formula One GP car and stainless steel rod. *Mounting methods: Desk mounted.
