For Richard, truly remarkable art doesn't just impress—it stops you in your tracks. His work invites the viewer on a journey that begins with curiosity: “What is it?”, quickly followed by “How was it made?”, and ultimately leads to a deeper reflection: “What does it mean?”
Driven by this philosophy, Richard has carved a unique niche in automotive art, blending beauty with storytelling. His striking, often sculptural pieces integrate original components from race cars, exotics, and vintage classics. These salvaged parts—imbued with history, performance, and emotion—form the heart of each work, giving it authenticity and soul.
Most of his pieces are crafted using aluminium panels, meticulously laser-cut, CNC-bent, and anodised. Onto these, high-resolution photographs are precisely laminated, computer-aligned, and plodder-cut to match each shape, then mounted against high-gloss acrylic backings. The result is a bold fusion of technology, craftsmanship, and fine art.
But Richard’s creativity goes far beyond panels and prints. His diverse portfolio includes paintings on car parts, and even whimsical sculptures—such as a bouquet made entirely from vintage ‘ahoogah’ horns, created for a museum installation in Los Angeles.
Richard’s work has been exhibited in some of the world’s most respected automotive and art institutions, including:
- British Motor Museum
- Los Angeles Driving Museum
- Jaguar Heritage Trust Museum
- Williams F1 Museum
- Alfa Romeo F1
- McLaren F1 and Williams F1 headquarters
He has also showcased at prestigious venues like the Royal Automobile Club London, Salon Privé at Blenheim Palace, Sotheby’s London, and Bonhams Aston Martin Classics Auction.
Richard studied fine art at Central Saint Martins (UAL), The Art Academy London, and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, building on a foundation of rigorous artistic training. He also holds degrees in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University in Boston, a testament to his analytical mind and global perspective.
Before dedicating himself full-time to art, Richard had a distinguished career in creative marketing, where he invented the globally successful Finish PowerBall dishwasher tablet—an innovation used in millions of homes around the world.
Today, Richard continues to merge engineering precision with artistic imagination, crafting work that celebrates the beauty, nostalgia, and sheer wonder of automotive culture.
