Inspired by the 1978 World Championship winning 500cc Yamaha YZR500 ridden by Kenny Roberts.

This Alastair Gibson sculpture is a smaller version of the original ‘carbon dory’ sculpture

It moves away from the usual fast streamlined fish that he sculpts and shows the stylish details of this ancient oceanic creature.

Selected parts and materials used in this Carbon Art 45 sculpture are from modern Grand Prix cars as listed below.

Sculpture limited to 20 pieces.

Body: Carbon fibre, 2 ply/layers 2 x 2 twill 200 gsm with UV resistant clear gloss coating.

Tail and Pectoral fins: Silver coated 0.5 mm photo etched stainless steel.Marking detail: Silver standard Dory details with custom designed Yamaha vinyl transfer.

Mounting base and rod: Mounted on a black coated wooden base with Goodyear tyre ID logo and a gear from a modern Formula One GP car.
