The Gulf Porsche Mako Pup by Alastair Gibson in collaboration with Carbon Art 45 is a celebration of motorsport heritage and marine design. Inspired by the iconic Gulf Porsche 917K, which served as a test car for Le Mans in 1970 and later became the star of Le Mans starring Steve McQueen, this sculpture merges speed, design, and storytelling in a single piece.
A scaled version of the original Racing Mako, the sculpture is crafted to the true birth size of a Mako shark pup, capturing the sleek, powerful lines of the ocean’s fastest shark. Every curve and contour reflects the aerodynamic spirit of both nature and racing engineering.
Selected components and materials used in the sculpture are sourced from modern Grand Prix cars, integrating authentic motorsport DNA into the artwork. This fusion of performance materials and marine-inspired design makes the Gulf Porsche Mako Pup a unique collectible for both racing enthusiasts and art collectors alike.
Sculpture limited to twenty five pieces with 2 artist proofs.
