Chuck Berry II, A hand-signed screenprint on paper by rock legend Ronnie Wood.
Originally released in 1988 as an edition of 150, this rare piece has been taken from the Rolling Stones star’s personal archive for his Private Collection, which includes some of the most sought-after limited editions from his artistic career. The artwork captures the late Chuck Berry, who died in March 2017. Considered as one of the pioneers of rock music, the guitarist, singer and songwriter was one of Ronnie’s biggest influences.
Upon his death, Ronnie Tweeted: ‘So sad – with the passing of Chuck Berry comes the end of an era. He was one of the best and my inspiration, a true character indeed’.
Almost three decades after its original release, the piece is one of Ronnie’s oldest available artworks and is renowned for its charismatic portrayal of a fellow musical legend.
