Neil Carroll
Neil is a self-taught artist from London whose ambition to become a painter was long delayed by life’s commitments—but his passion never waned. He began painting in oils in 2011 and turned professional in 2017, fulfilling his lifelong dream of being a full-time artist.
In 2014, one of Neil’s paintings was selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. Since then, he has continued to explore and develop his own distinctive style.
Neil explains his approach: “I don’t set out to paint what is in front of me. I aim to create something with atmosphere and interest based on the subject. I remove as much detail as possible and paint as broadly as my mood allows.”
His work is characterized by expressive brushwork, mood-driven compositions, and a focus on atmosphere, making his paintings highly evocative and emotionally engaging. Neil’s work is now proudly represented at Westover Gallery, where collectors can experience his original oils and limited editions.
