Nigel Mansell's legendary partnership with Williams Racing and his iconic number 5 car gave birth to one of the most famous monikers in Formula 1 history: "Red 5". The nickname originated in 1985, when Mansell joined Williams. To prevent race officials and fans from confusing his car with teammate Keke Rosberg's number 6 car, Mansell's number 5 was uniquely painted in red, while Rosberg's remained white.
