Named after the Bob Marley and the Wailers song One Love / People Get Ready, the artwork reflects Oxley’s ability to combine popular culture, music and his fascination with wildlife. His distinctive drip technique gives the leopard’s spots an almost liquid quality, helping to convey the movement and fluidity of the animal while maintaining the unmistakable character of his contemporary style

Oxley is known for his concept of “psychedelic natural history”, creating vibrant and unconventional interpretations of the natural world.

With People Get Ready, he strips back his usual rainbow palette and allows the intricate detail, expressive brushwork and powerful presence of the leopard to take centre stage.
