Odd Birds – Humorous, Iconic, and Colorful Glass Light Objects

Bring charm, color, and personality to your home or garden with Stani Jan Borowski’s Odd Birds. First launched in 2019 as the special edition Quirky Birds, each glass bird is a playful homage to society’s outsiders, eccentrics, and black sheep—figures who dared to follow their own path and achieved iconic status.

Every piece is handcrafted and unique, with glass bodies adorned with intricate details and motifs referencing famous personalities, artworks, or symbols—from the Rolling Stones logo to Picasso-style paintings and melting clocks reminiscent of Dalí.

Each bird is also a functional light object, featuring a standard replaceable bulb and a 6-meter outdoor cable, which illuminates the vibrant colors and patterns beautifully. Perfect as a whimsical home accent, garden décor, or collectible art piece, these birds fascinate, delight, and inspire.

Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo is considered one of the most important female artists of the 20th century. Her work is characterized by self-portraits rich in symbolism, which address both her physical suffering and her unbridled vitality. With her powerful paintings, she broke through social conventions and became an icon of female self-determination. To this day, she continues to inspire artists, fashion, and pop culture worldwide – not only through her art, but also through her radical self-stylization, in which she merged life and art into an inseparable whole.

Niki De Saint Phalle

The artist became especially famous for her “Nanas” – female figures brimming with energy, sensuality, and humor. Her works celebrate life in all its diversity, radiating optimism, freedom, and a spirit of joyful experimentation.   These very qualities are mirrored in the NIKI glass object:  Vivid colour fields and striking contrasts that instantly spread good cheer.  Decorative patterns on the rounded body, recalling the ornamentation of the “Nanas.”
