Capricorn the Goat is an earth sign ruled by Saturn, symbolising ambition, discipline and structure. In mythology, Capricorn is also associated with Pan, the nature god whose untamed spirit offers an intriguing contrast to the sign’s more grounded qualities.
Chris Rivers captures this distinctive character through a richly textured composition of sandy umbers and earthy tones, anchored by a bold metallic disc that creates a strong sense of structure. From this solid foundation, vibrant bursts of colour emerge in pale yellows, blues and greens, bringing energy and movement to the celestial scene. The heavily worked surface is beautifully complemented by delicate, leaf-like forms that weave through the composition, balancing expressive texture with intricate detail.
