‘Acid’ is an uplifting and energising piece, from the birds darting between blooming flowers, to butterflies fluttering over and under crawling plants and reaching tendrils. I purposefully wanted this artwork to be full and bountiful, celebrating nature and vitality, as well as a nod to the delicate hummingbird skeletons alongside their lively counterparts. This piece was about colour and warmth to pull together this idea of abundant nature. With abstract textures sweeping and dripping between subjects, there is a sense of connection between everything within the painting.
