To mark the Centenary of The First World War, Westover Gallery, Bournemouth brings you The Danger Tree, an interactive art exhibition of traditional oil painting and modern Augmented Reality technology. The Danger Tree collection brings oil paintings to life with the Blippar smartphone App to tell the story of soldiers who fought between 1914 and 1918. Created by award-winning artists Scarlett Raven and Marc Marot, this is your opportunity to experience art like never before. After touring the country, including museums in London, Manchester and Belfast, we've brought five of the pieces to Westover Gallery to coincide with Remembrance Day, 11th November.Using the free Blippar App on mobile devices the paintings transform on-screen into a 3D experience of poetry, music and animation. Oil painted poppy fields are stripped back layer by layer, revealing an interesting insight on the artist’s process. The exhibition is free of charge and anyone can experience the interactive art with a compatible mobile device. If you don’t have access to a smartphone or tablet, staff at the gallery will have a dedicated device to allow those to experience this incredible Augment Reality artwork.Experience the exhibition for yourself at Westover Gallery, 4 Westover Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH1 2BY.
