August 8th is International Cat Day, and here at Westover Gallery, we're not just cat lovers — we're proud curators of incredible feline art, from the untamed wild to the cosy comforts of home. Cats have inspired artists for centuries with their elegance, mystery, and undeniable charisma — and today, we’re celebrating the ones who continue that tradition through breathtaking brushwork and bold imagination.
Our collection features stunning cat-themed works by some of the UK’s most celebrated artists:
Renowned for his hyper-realistic wildlife art, Jonathan brings big cats to life in powerful, detailed portraits. From the fierce gaze of a lioness to the silent stealth of a snow leopard, his work captures the spirit of the wild — majestic, raw, and deeply moving. A must-see for any lover of exotic felines or wildlife conservation.
Joe’s expressive, contemporary style gives domestic cats a new level of flair. His commissions often reflect not only the beauty of the animal, but their personality — curious, coy, playful, or proud. Whether it’s a sleek tabby basking in light or a trio of mischief-makers mid-pounce, Joe’s cats feel as alive as the real thing.
Known for her whimsical animal portraits in vibrant palettes and embellished finishes, Amy Louise has a gift for capturing the charm and character of our furry friends. Her stylised cats — both elegant and cheeky — sit perfectly between fine art and fun, making them favourites in both modern homes and gallery installations.
Born in 1969 near Lichfield, Staffordshire, Martin draws on his childhood love of animals and a lifelong dedication to art. After 25 years in graphic design and gaming, he returned to his true passion: fine art. Martin’s acrylic paintings capture the soul of pets through striking realism — starting always with the eyes, which he believes hold the essence of his subjects. His work features bold lighting and dynamic shadows that bring each animal’s spirit vividly to life. Commissions of beloved pets showcase his skill in rendering intimate moments with authenticity and heart.
Whether you connect with the quiet grace of a wild tiger or the gentle mischief of a housecat, cat-inspired artwork brings warmth, character, and even a little magic into any space.
We’re also proud to offer commissions and custom installations, working directly with our artists to create something truly personal — whether it’s your beloved pet immortalised in paint, or a large-scale feline piece for your home or business.
On this International Cat Day, we invite you to explore our collection of feline-inspired works — each one a tribute to the creatures who steal our hearts, our laps, and occasionally our lunch.
