Rose Matilda

For this painting, Bob took a trip to the Black Country Living Museum to explore his industrial roots. Interestingly, Bob also used to work as a Viking! Bob enjoys the technical aspect of this piece; the red and crimson reflection in the water in the bottom left of the painting. It’s a classic technique called ‘glaze’, which is influenced by the Old Masters of the Renaissance period. Bob has begun to add a little more colour to each painting, building through layers of glazes. This produces subtle hints of colour while retaining the timeless ‘Bob Barker’ look.
