Roosevelt *LAST ONE* | Robert Oxley

Roosevelt, a limited edition print on canvas by artist Robert Oxley in his signature colourful drip effect style which is also embellished on top of print for added texture.

This piece is inspired by the former US president Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919). After refusing to shoot a bear during a Mississippi hunting trip in 1902, Roosevelt was satirised in The Washington Post by the political cartoonist Clifford K. Berryman. Upon seeing the cartoon, a married couple in Brooklyn created a stuffed bear and named it a ‘teddy bear’. Robert adds: “The rest is history!”
