A framed and signed limited edition canvas on board by nostalgic artist Bob Barker.
Bob Barker has chose to capture the spirit of his home city’s football club, Leeds United, in the painting “4 the Hero” Bob Barker could not have chosen a more appropriate and iconic subject. The sculpture of Billy Bremner, created by Frances Segelman and erected outside the Leeds United ground, Elland Road, in 1999 has become a place of pilgrimage, memorial and celebration for Leeds fans all over the globe.
Billy Bremner was one of Britain's most fiery, skilful and industrious footballers of the post-war years. An essential cog in the pragmatic, often over-robust yet frequently wonderfully entertaining Leeds United team of the sixties and seventies, he was also the red-haired dynamo in Scotland's international side, winning 54 caps. Segelman and Barker capture the rapture of the player voted Leed’s greatest ever player, Captain and Manager who was the beating heart of the mighty all conquering “Revie” side.
Bob Barker, Billy Bremner and Yorkshire spirit are all celebrated to perfection in this beautiful and dramatically lit piece.
