Stuart McAlpine Miller reflects on The Savoy’s halcyon Hollywood days | A Time For Reflection: The Savoy Suite

If there's one hotel that sums up the timeless glamour of London, it's The Savoy. Now its rich history and celebrity guests are immortalised in Stuart McAlpine Miller's new collection, officially launching this Friday 6 July.

In his pop art style, A Time For Reflection: The Savoy Suite evokes the glory days of Hollywood and the famous figures that graced The Savoy’s iconic London halls.

Marlene Dietrich, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe and Alfred Hitchcock are just some of the famous patrons of The Savoy captured in A Time For Reflection: The Savoy Suite.

Following the impressive refurbishment of The Savoy, McAlpine Miller was commissioned for this iconic pop art collection. Working together to decide on the subjects, and to mine the archival materials available, the artworks began to take shape, and one of the most momentous collaborations in contemporary British art was born.

“It’s almost like a visual arts version of a time capsule, preserving moments to be enjoyed long after we’re all gone,” says Stuart McAlpine Miller.

Ahead of the official launch of the momentous collection on Friday 6 July, Westover Gallery are offering the opportunity to purchase the full paper portfolio of eight graphics at an exciting pre-release price of £3,950.
