Artist Paul Corfield says: "This is another painting inspired by the red sandstone of Devon. As a family, we often holiday on the border of Cornwall and Devon, where we visit a lot of the small coastal towns and villages. Here, you can see those red iron oxide stained cliffs, which date back over 400 million years. Amongst my tubes of oil paint, I have a tube of transparent oxide red, which is made from very finely-ground iron oxide – perfect for capturing the natural beauty of the Devon coast."
