British artist Sarah Jane Szikora presents her latest collection, A House Is Not a Home — a deeply personal exploration of belonging, memory, and the meaning of “home.”
“It may seem like a simple question,” Szikora reflects, “but the answer was not so obvious to me. To date, I have lived in sixteen houses, and at least fifteen of them never truly felt like home.”
Living at her current address inspired Szikora to look beyond physical spaces and locations. “I began to recognise that my restless need to move on wasn’t just dissatisfaction with a place — it was an invitation to reflect more deeply on why I kept searching.”
Through this new body of work, Sarah Jane Szikora invites viewers to consider their own experiences of home, identity, and comfort. A House Is Not a Home is both an artistic and emotional investigation into the spaces we inhabit and the feelings that define them.
