This November, Westover Gallery opens its doors to an extraordinary exhibition featuring Julie Ann ScottMarc Marot, and Steven Lovatt — three artists whose work bridges art, history, and emotion. From 8–20 November 2025, visitors in Bournemouth can experience dual exhibitions combining luminous landscapes, poignant WWII narratives, and striking sculptural symbolism.

Julie Ann Scott: Celebrated British Artist

Acclaimed for over 20 yearsJulie Ann Scott is renowned for her ability to combine technical mastery, emotional depth, and spiritual resonance. Her upcoming exhibition at Westover Gallery showcases two major bodies of work:

Land & Seascapes

Julie Ann’s signature oil paintings feature turtles, koi, and coastal vistas, capturing the light, movement, and beauty of nature. These pieces invite viewers into a tranquil yet immersive experience of the natural world.

STAND

STAND is a deeply moving World War II series, reflecting on courage, sacrifice, and the enduring human spirit. Previously exhibited at St Mary’s Woolnoth Church, London and Windsor Castle, it also appears in her published book STAND, pairing nine paintings with prophetic reflections for today’s world.

Julie Ann’s work has international recognition, including showcases in Washington DC, and she recently completed the official painting for the 2025 US National Day of Prayer.

Preview Event: Julie Ann Scott will be in attendance on Saturday 8 November, 4–6pm, offering visitors a rare opportunity to meet the artist and hear the stories behind her work.

Steven Lovatt: Sculptures of Memory and Resilience

Complementing Scott’s paintings are the sculptures of Steven Lovatt, whose roses entwined with barbed wiresymbolize the tension between beauty and painlove and loss, and resilience amidst hardship. Each sculpture acts as a contemporary memorial, offering viewers a tangible connection to the themes of courage and remembrance explored in the exhibition.

Marc Marot: Art Comes Alive with Artivive

Marc Marot adds an immersive, technological layer to the exhibition. Using the Artivive app, visitors can watch and listen as his WWII-inspired paintings are narrated by a veteran, turning each piece into a living, emotional experience. This innovative integration of augmented reality and fine art allows audiences to connect with history on a deeply personal level.

A Moment for Reflection and Commemoration

With 2025 marking 80 years since the end of World War II, this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to reflect on history through the lens of art. Together, Julie Ann Scott, Steven Lovatt, and Marc Marot create a multi-layered experience where:

  • Artistic mastery meets emotional storytelling

  • Historical remembrance is expressed through sculpture and painting

  • Augmented reality enhances connection with personal narratives

Visitors can explore visual beauty, historical depth, and immersive storytelling in one cohesive exhibition, making this a must-see event for art lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
